Shawnee Volunteer Fire Co. Junior Program - Post #2022

Shawneee's Junior Firefighter program consists of young adults, both male and female, from the ages of 14 to 18. The junior program members meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00pm at Shawnee firehall and drill the following Sunday at 6:00pm.

Our junior program teaches these young adults the basics in fire fighting, auto extracation, and EMT skills used daily by both paid and volunteer firemen. A few examples of the skills they will learn in the program are:

 

• Properly putting on and taking off fire fighter gear including SCBA
• Disassembling an auto mobile to safely remove injuried passengers
• Preparing water hydrant hookups
• Search and rescue
• Vechile equipment care and maintenance
• Plus much more
